Listen to the New Voices podcast on Audible

Posted

To celebrate ten years of our New Views Programme, we’ve teamed up with Audible to bring you New Voices, a collection of ten captivating audio plays that delve into thought-provoking narratives and evoke profound emotions.

These scripts were written by young people who had previously taken part in the programme and have since adapted their plays into audio plays, exclusive to Audible.

Audible supported the New Views team and the writers throughout the adaptation process, giving them hands-on experience in commissioning, audio development and audio recording.

To be able to watch and listen to my script come to life has been a truly surreal and moving experience. It was really important to me to be able to do justice to the story I wanted to tell, and I am grateful to the actors, producers and everyone at Audible and the National Theatre in helping me do exactly that.

Director Jessica Dromgoole worked with the playwrights to help guide them through the adaptation process, from script, to audio play.

Jessica Dromgoole directed the series and worked with the writers to adapt the plays into audio plays. On her experience, she said:

These ten plays are brilliant.  Weird, funny, surprising, deeply felt and moving.  A crowd scan of what matters.  I’m so grateful for NT New Views finding them, and for Audible inspiring these adaptations.
