How long do shows stay on the platform for?
The length of time our shows are available to stream can vary. However, new shows are continually added to our collection on a monthly basis, meaning you always have access to the latest theatre productions. When a production is due to be removed from our library, we will notify subscribers.
Why has a show I like been removed from the show library?
Some of our shows are only available for a limited time due to licensing agreements and therefore must be removed from the library once the agreement expires.

What's the difference between subscribing and renting?
You can choose to subscribe month-by-month, or annually, and you can cancel anytime.
If you rent a single play, you will get access to this play only, and have three days (72-hours) to finish watching it once you click the play button. Make sure you finish it within this window as there are no extensions once the 72-hour period ends.
How long can I rent a play for?
Once you have purchased the play, you will receive an email confirmation. When you press play to start the play you have rented, you have three days (72 hours) from this point to finish watching.
At the end of the third day, after 72 hours, you will no longer have access to the play. Remember when you started your play to make sure you get to watch the play in full and don’t miss out!

When you cancel, you will receive an email confirmation. When you cancel your subscription, video access will exist until the next charging cycle, but you will not be charged further.

Do any plays have audio description?
National Theatre at Home offers audio described performance as part of our commitment to accessibility, ensuring that a broader audience can enjoy our performances.
These productions provide a verbal commentary to describe what is happening on screen, which is particularly useful for blind and partially sighted audiences. Each audio described performance is accompanied by Intro Notes (in MP4 format) that describe the story, cast and costumes for audiences to listen to in advance of watching the production.
Several productions are currently available with audio description, including titles like Othello, Much Ado About Nothing, The Cherry Orchard, and Yerma.
Do any plays have BSL?
A selection of our plays offer British Sign Language performances. Titles include The Little Big Things, Peter Pan and Othello.
